Screen Printing Artwork Guidelines

To ensure your artwork prints cleanly and accurately on your packaging, please follow the artwork specifications below before submitting your final design.

1. Submit Vector Artwork

Please provide your artwork in a vector format whenever possible:

- AI — Adobe Illustrator

- PDF — Vector PDF

- EPS

- SVG

Please avoid screenshots or low-resolution JPG/PNG files.

2. Minimum Line Thickness

We use a 100-mesh screen for screen printing.

Very thin lines may not reproduce cleanly and can break up or disappear during production.

Recommended minimum line weight: 0.3 mm

Preferred line weight: 0.35–0.5 mm or thicker

For fine details, thicker lines will generally produce a more consistent result.

3. Minimum Text Size

Small text can be difficult to reproduce, especially when using thin or decorative fonts.

We recommend:

Minimum text height: 1.5–2 mm

Preferred text height: 2 mm or larger

For small text, please use a Medium, Semibold, or Bold font weight where possible.

Avoid very thin fonts, delicate serif fonts, and extremely fine script lettering.

4. Avoid Very Small Gaps

Small gaps and openings can close during screen printing.

Please maintain a minimum gap of approximately 0.3 mm between:

- Letters

- Lines

- Graphic elements

- Enclosed areas

- Negative-space details

This is particularly important for small letters such as a, e, R, B, P, 8 and 9.

5. Convert All Text to Outlines

Before submitting your final artwork, please convert all text to outlines.

In Adobe Illustrator:

Select Text → Type → Create Outlines

This ensures that the correct font and letter shapes are preserved during production.

6. Use Solid Artwork

For standard single-color screen printing, artwork should be supplied as 100% solid black.

Please avoid:

- Transparency

- Gradients

- Drop shadows

- Blurs

- Soft edges

- Semi-transparent elements

If your design requires halftones or special effects, please contact us before submitting the final artwork.

7. Artwork at Final Print Size

Please create your artwork at the actual size at which it will be printed.

Do not submit artwork that needs to be significantly enlarged or reduced during production, as scaling can affect fine details and line weights.

8. Keep Important Details Clear

Keep small text and fine artwork away from the edges of the intended print area.

Fine details should have sufficient surrounding space to allow for clean printing and accurate positioning.

9. Multiple Colors

If your artwork contains multiple colors, each color may require a separate screen.

Please contact us before preparing multi-color artwork so we can confirm the production requirements.

10. Final Artwork Review

All artwork is reviewed before production.

If we identify text, lines, gaps, or other details that are too small or fine to reproduce reliably, we may request a revised artwork file before proceeding with printing.

Best Results

For the most reliable screen-printing results, we recommend:

Vector artwork + outlined text + 0.35 mm or thicker lines + 2 mm or larger text + 0.3 mm or larger gaps.

If you are unsure whether your artwork meets these requirements, send us the artwork and our team can review it before production.
